My Writing Style

My writing is like an album because of the purposefully crafted meaning, the organizational flow, and the way in which all views are analyzed. As an avid writer I have a process for concentrated pieces, but I prefer to write using my stream of consciousness, because of its raw quality and the ability to create a connection with my audience more easily. Although I love to write, I have my strengths and weaknesses, but it’s nothing that some more disciplined and daily writing can’t fix.

My strengt

hs with writing are the way I carefully chose words to fit exactly what I’m describing, my flow/organization in writing, and the way that I make my thesis fairly clear to the reader. I have gained these strengths through my time writing for school, doing creative writing, and writing for the school newspaper. One of the most positive experiences that I’ve had with writing was last year when I had an assignment in which I had to pick a moment in time that really shaped me into the person I am today; a life changing moment. For that assignment I wrote about when I fell in love with music, and I absolutely loved delving into that time of my life.

My weaknesses mainly consist of me getting to passionate about the topic that I am writing about, so I sometimes go too far into detail, which is nice when trying to write a long essay, but not very useful in getting straight to the point. Because of that flaw in my writing, I find it difficult to write essays such as DBQ’s, and I’ve always had a negative experience with them. Despite those essays, I still love to write in my free time, whether its songs, poems, or music reviews.
